Ian first joined Jones Lang Wootton in 1978 as a retail leasing agent in Sydney, transitioning into real estate investment management in tandem with the firm’s evolution into LaSalle Investment Managementafter the merger of Jones Lang Wootton with LaSalle Partners in 2000. As one of LaSalle’s pioneer employees in Asia Pacific, Ian established LaSalle’s business platform in the Asia Pacific, recruiting staff and opening LaSalle offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Today, the platform is 172-people strong, spread across six offices in the region.

Ian was also instrumental in initiating LaSalle’s stellar reputation as a real-estate focused investment manager in the region.

Following the merger in 2000, Ian launched and raised capital for LaSalle Asia Recovery Fund, the firm’s first Asia fund. In the following years, as President for the first two iterations of both the LaSalle Japan Logistics Fund series and LaSalle Asia Opportunity Fund series, Ian’s deep experience across a vast array of transactions – leasing and sales brokerage, joint venture developments, joint venture platforms, acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio management, fund management, capital raising, client management, and business development – played a pivotal role in LaSalle generating impressive returns on the platforms, cementing LaSalle’s reputation as a top investment manager for opportunistic / value-add real estate strategies, and in the regional logistics sector.
